Project Story
Climatenza assessed/designed a pre-development solar-thermal process-heat pilot for Naturex Maroc SA in Nouaceur using 172 T-160 parabolic trough collectors (946 m2) to supply renewable heat for extraction, rectification and drying, targeting ~413.6 tCO2e/year reductions.

Climatenza Solar developed a pre-development feasibility design for a solar thermal process-heat pilot at Naturex Maroc SA (part of the Givaudan/Naturex ecosystem) in Nouaceur, Morocco. The concept uses 172 T-160 parabolic trough collectors across a 946 m2 solar aperture area, integrated with a solar central (receiver/HTF loop), heat exchangers, storage tanks and tracking and monitoring systems to deliver useful thermal energy to the plant’s extraction, rectification and drying processes. The technical design explores both hot-water and direct-steam integration points (feedwater preheat, ATEX-zone steam at ~2.3 bar, rectification columns at ~2.5 bar, and dryer hot-water at ~95°C), including storage and control strategies to smooth batch-operation demand. The feasibility simulation (T160 parameters, local DNI) estimates roughly 1,260.8 MWh/year of thermal output from the 946 m2 field and indicates the solar field can supply significant portions of Battery-F and CR-5 steam demand on many days of the year. From a carbon/MRV perspective the public snapshot (TenzaONE) lists a baseline of ~910 tCO2e/yr and a net reduction of ~413.6 tCO2e/yr (headline 414 tCO2e/yr) against an HFO boiler baseline. The dossier frames AMS-II.C (v15.0) as the applicable methodology and recommends robust MRV and baseline fuel-data collection before claiming credits or registration. The project is presented as a pilot/pre-development reference (evidence pending) intended to demonstrate replicable industrial heat decarbonization for natural-ingredients processing (pages 1-4, 25-33, 37-45, 47-58, 72-76; TenzaONE S1).

What is this card?

The Project Evidence Data Card summarises the key environmental and assurance metrics for this project. Data is pulled live from Credit-Readiness Pre-Assessments (when the owner shares the results) and on-chain commitments. Evidence, not proof: review it and decide.

How to read the data

  • Emissions Reduction — Estimated annual CO2e avoided or removed, derived from the project's VCS methodology and baseline scenario.
  • Overall Score — Composite credit-readiness score (0–100%) covering additionality, permanence, leakage, and MRV quality.
  • REC % — Alignment with Renewable Energy Certificate issuance criteria.
  • EEC % — Alignment with Energy Efficiency Credit (EEC) criteria.
  • Phase — Current stage in the project development lifecycle.
  • DePIN Integrity — Data integrity score from decentralised sensor network (uptime, calibration, completeness).

Glossary

  • VCS — Verified Carbon Standard (Verra), a leading carbon credit certification programme.
  • tCO2e/yr — Tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
  • VVB — Validation/Verification Body, the independent auditor that reviews project claims.
  • Evidence Tier — Classification of supporting evidence quality (e.g. Tier 1 = measured data, Tier 3 = default factors).
  • Commitment Hash — Cryptographic hash of the assessment data committed to blockchain for a tamper-evident audit trail.
  • DePIN — Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Network, providing real-time sensor-based MRV data.
  • Scope 3 Cat. 15 — GHG Protocol category covering financed emissions from investments.
  • CSRD / ESRS E1 — EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, climate change disclosure standard.
  • MRV — Measurement, Reporting, and Verification.

Credit-Readiness Pre-Assessment
Summary

This is a well-documented pre‑development feasibility for a 172‑collector (946 m2) solar‑thermal pilot at Naturex Maroc SA (Climatenza) with clear technical design, monitoring scope and finance modelling and an explicit TenzaONE net reduction figure (~413.6 tCO2e/yr). However, critical VCS PDD elements are missing or incomplete (additionality demonstration, baseline fuel records, full GHG quantification, safeguards/stakeholder evidence and formal MRV instrument calibration/traceability), so the package is not yet ready for VCS validation or registration.
